The First Leg of the Voyage
New York City to The Azores
Dan and his buddy motored the boat through
the Erie canal system to Albany, then they put the mast up, and sailed it
down the Hudson River To New Jersey.
Tom & Roseanne - Admiring the Washington Bridge lights
Last night they will see each other for a very long time
Up early the next morning! Ready for THE Voyage of a life-time
Tom (left), Mark (middle), Dan (right)
Up close and personal... and NOT from a tourist boat!

NOW we are sailing!
Tom and his morning tea at the Tiller.
Mark at the Tiller.
Lots of time for reading.
Brilliant Sun Sets
Whale in the water, right below the boat
More sunsets. Tom at the tiller
Skipper pondering over the charts.
Dan on look-out
Becalmed - time for a bath - Dan was the only one foolish (and young) enough to
go in the water 1,000 miles from land. The wind soon started to pick up,
Dan almost got left behind, but we quickly threw him a rope.
The ocean can be still as a bath tub
And at other times it can swallow your boat whole.
This was a 30 foot high wave... it was higher than the mast on the boat.
If you saw this, what would you say you were looking at?
Mark is a lot happier after spotting the islands
Skipper at the helm.
Very pleased with him self that he got us with-in view of the Azores.
